Nat Geo Pacts with U.K. Firm for New JV

LONDON: National Geographic Ventures International (NGVI) has partnered with factual production outfit Touch Productions to set up Dizzy Earth, which makes its official debut at MIPTV with a slate of factual-entertainment formats.

The joint venture aims to create and exploit new IP across platforms, beginning with factual-entertainment formats, tapping into the expertise of the partner companies.

“Touch and NGVI have worked together well for a number of years now so we are really excited to have started this new venture together," said Maurice van Sabben, co-founder of Dizzy Earth and president of NGVI. "Our common approach and desire to do something different with the assets we hold between us is garnering early interest and we are confident that MIPTV will represent the perfect launch pad for our first ideas"

Malcolm Brinkworth, Dizzy Earth co-founder and CEO of Touch Productions, added, “There has never been a more fascinating and challenging time to work in the content business. Our world is competitive, fast-paced and new ways of putting content in front of people are being developed all the time. Dizzy Earth will be creating and managing new IP and stepping outside of the traditional boundaries of production companies to hopefully redefine what it means to be a contemporary content business. Dizzy Earth will explore every potential exploitation avenue for new and re-purposed ideas, ensuring we reach the best possible audience.”
