JOHANNESBURG: South African natural-history producer Aquavision TV Productions has hired Steve Eder, one of the founders of National Geographic Explorer, to oversee the company’s development and production operations.

A producer, director and writer, Eder is behind a number of Emmy Award-winning projects, including Infinite Voyage, Lost Civilizations and World of Discovery. He will be working closely with Aquavision’s CEO, Peter Lamberti, and creative director, Billi-Jean Parker. Eder will be part of an effort to expand the company’s slate of HD and 3D productions for U.S. markets.

“We’re excited to have Steve’s talents, energy and experience, especially now that Aquavision’s joined forces with NHNZ,” said Lamberti. “Steve, along with Phil Fairclough who recently joined the NHNZ group, will significantly add to our international presence.

“I’m thrilled to join the Aquavision team,” added Eder. “Peter’s created a highly respected company loaded with incredibly energetic, talented and creative film makers.”
