MuchMusic Announces User-Generated Content Initiative

TORONTO, November 3: MuchMusic has launched Show Me Yours,
allowing viewers to submit their own content that will be broadcast on its
website, with the best clips also making it into the shows MuchAdrenaline and MuchOnDemand.

“MuchMusic is the industry leader when it comes to using
technology to engage audiences,” says David Kines, the VP of music and youth services
at CHUM Television. “Integrating fan-generated content with our on-air
programming brings our online community even closer together.”

“We’ve always engaged our audience by delivering the content
they want in innovative, creative ways,” added Maria Hale, the VP of content
business development at CHUM Television. “It was a natural next step for us to
create original programming specifically for our wired and wireless audiences.”

MuchMusic has also announced new original shows for its
on-demand video site MuchAXS. They include Headlines On Trial, a spin-off of the top-rated MuchMusic show Video
On Trial
. It will consist of two-minute
episodes, posted every other week, of candid commentary, scathing reviews and
tongue-in-cheek profiling.
