Disney Takes HSM on Tour

BURBANK, November 3: The cast of Disney Channel’s hit
original movie High School Musical is set to embark on a 40-city arena concert tour at
the end of this month.

High School Musical: The Concert kicks off November 29 in
San Diego, California. Tickets go on sale November 4 at Ticketmaster outlets
and online at HighSchoolMusical.AEGLive.com.

The cast will perform the hit songs from the film’s
triple-platinum-selling soundtrack, which is the best-selling album of 2006 to
date. They will be joined by the
Emmy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Drew Seeley, who co-wrote the hit Get'cha
Head in the Game
and contributed vocals to
the High School Musical and The
Cheetah Girls 2
soundtracks. Zac Efron, who
played Troy, is currently filming the feature Hairspray and will not be featured on the tour. The concert
will also include performances by Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley
Tisdale of material from their solo albums.

“High School Musical: The Concert is the logical next step
in Buena Vista Music Group’s (BVMG) recently launched concert production arm,”
said Bob Cavallo, the chairman of BVMG. "The segue from runaway hit Disney
Channel original movie and biggest selling album of the year to concert arenas
will be a great experience for the whole family. It follows on the heels of our
record-breaking, sold-out The Cheetah Girls' tour with special guests Miley
Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, Jordan Pruitt and Everlife."

Rich Ross, the president of Disney Channel Worldwide, added,
"This concert tour is the culmination of a landmark year where Disney
Channel hits were built into music industry headlines by our colleagues at Walt
Disney Records. As the High School Musical franchise burgeons, we are above all
else grateful to our viewers and their parents for their appreciation of the
movie and are thrilled to watch our multi-talented young stars launch a new
facet of their careers—concert headliners."
