MTVNI Strikes Comedy Sales

LONDON: Shows from MTV Networks International’s comedy portfolio have been sold to new broadcasters worldwide, including in Belgium, where a deal has been inked with VTM.

VTM went for Comedy Central’s sketch comedy series The Jeff Dunham Show. In the Nordics, Finland’s TV5 picked up the first two seasons of Ashton Kutcher’s Punk’d. Sweden’s SVT took Comedy Central’s John Oliver Stand Up Show.

Russia’s 2X2 channel acquired the first 13 episodes of Spike’s comedy animation Gary the Rat, featuring Kelsey Grammer as the lead voice. Viasat in Slovenia snapped up the hidden camera series Boiling Points, as well as Punk’d.

A number of deals have been signed across Latin America, including the third season of The Sarah Silverman Show scoring a pickup from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
