MTVNI Shores Up Programming Sales

LONDON: MTV Networks International (MTVNI) closed a number of agreements at MIPTV, including signing up more than 40 new broadcast partners across the Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America for The Penguins of Madagascar.

In the formats arena, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, The Joe Schmo Show, Hell Date and From Gs to Gents are being adapted and localized in markets such as Australia, France and Italy. Other deals include Dora the Explorer headed to China’s CCTV. SpongeBob SquarePants notched up sales across Eastern Europe, with deals including A1 in Macedonia, Teleimedi in Georgia and Armenia TV in Armenia. The show also heads to Latin America through a deal with Telenica in Nicaragua and a renewals from America TV in Peru. SpongeBob will further air as part of a new branded block deal with TV Hondurena in Honduras. Network 10 in Australia also snapped up the series.
