MTVNI Inks Comedy Sales

LONDON: A string of sales have been secured by MTV Networks International (MTVNI) on programs from its comedy catalogue across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

A two-year deal will see South Park heading to NRJ12 in France for the first time. The show is already a hit in France on MTVNI locally owned and operated channels Game One and MTV. The 13th season of South Park has been picked up by Canal+ in Poland and the complete series will be broadcast on M-Net’s Vuzu Channel in South Africa later this year.

Further comedy deals for MTVNI include The Colbert Report being relicensed by Showtime in the Middle East and picked up for the first time by CPI in the Philippines. CPI also went for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Germany’s Timm is set to air Strangers with Candy and Reno 911. Fox in Portugal also took on Reno 911, along with Chappelle’s Show
