MTV Orders Second Season of Teen Wolf

NEW YORK: A second season of the successful series Teen Wolf has been picked up by MTV to air in 2012.

Teen Wolf is the highest-rated new series of 2010 and 2011 on MTV and ranks fourth across all TV in its 10 p.m. time slot with 1.7 million total viewers. The second season will feature 12 one-hour episodes that will air on Monday nights.

The series was developed by Jeff Davis, the creator of Criminal Minds, who also serves as executive producer. It is a co-production with MGM, in association with Lost Marbles Productions, First Cause and DiGa.

The supernatural drama focuses on high school student Scott McCall who must hide his secret after being bitten by a werewolf.

"We’re incredibly proud of this show,” said David Janollari, the head of MTV programming. “Executive producer Jeff Davis has brought an exciting, cinematic story to life with a breakout young cast who our audience has wildly embraced. Picking up Teen Wolf for a second season marks another step toward the further diversification of our schedule, with this big, bold, entertaining scripted series."
