MTV Launches Online VOD Service in Australia

SYDNEY, April 20: MTV
Networks’ MTV Overdrive online video on demand service is now available in 11
countries across four continents, with its newest launch in Australia.

MTV Overdrive offers users
MTV news updates, artist interviews, music videos, live music performances and
original short-form programming. In addition to Australia, it is available in
Canada, Germany, Italy, Holland, France, Denmark, Sweden, Brazil, the U.K. and
the U.S. The Australian launch has been timed to coincide with the Australian
Video Music Awards, which will take place on April 29. Visitors to the website
in Australia will be able to watch exclusive online footage of artists such as
Fergie and Pink.

"With such an
incredible show planned there is no way we could ask for better material to
launch Australia's very own MTV Overdrive," said Matt Fayle, MTV
Australia’s director of digital media. "Online viewers will be able to
complement their TV experience by catching the kind of content that will make
them feel even more in the know with everything MTV."

Most videos on the
advertiser-supported service will last from 30 seconds to three minutes. They
include MTV News, MTV Meets, celebrity interviews, movie trailers, sneak peeks
and behind-the-scenes clips on location. The channel will also stream to 3G
mobile phone services through local carriers.
