MTV Launches on Free-to-Air DTT in Spain

MADRID: Marking its 10th anniversary in Spain, MTV is launching on DTT as a free-to-air channel, providing youth-focused entertainment for Spanish audiences.

MTV will offer programming anchored in series, docu-realities, in-house productions and music. On the roster are 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom; the in-house produced Now or Never (Ahora o Nunca); and music broadcasting in the way of Top 20 MTV Hits, Top 20 MTV Selection with indie music, Top 20 MTV Downloads, Yo! MTV Raps and MTV Galicia, which will be the first MTV event to broadcast free to air in Spain on September 18.

The debut on free TV is today, kicking off with a live countdown to launch the first broadcast of the channel.
