MTV Greenlights More 16 & Pregnant

SANTA MONICA: A second season of 16 & Pregnant, which follows teenage girls as they navigate the uncertainty of becoming mothers, has been picked up by MTV, which is also set to air the 16 & Pregnant: Life After Labor finale special on July 23.

The 16 & Pregnant: Life After Labor finale special, hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky, will be an issue-driven forum on teen pregnancy. All six of the teen mothers profiled on season one of the series will participate in this event. 16 & Pregnant captures the lives of pregnant teenage girls for 5 to 7 months as they cope with the impending birth. Cameras continue to follow the teens after they baby is born to see how they juggle their new responsibilities with their teenage life.

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy is working with MTV to support 16 & Pregnant. In partnership with MTV, The National Campaign will continue to create viewing guides for each episode, which will be available rights free for distribution for use as a platform to have open discussion around sexual health and pregnancy with teens.
