MTG Taps Ex-Zodiak Exec for Content Role

STOCKHOLM: Patrick Svensk, the former CEO of Zodiak Television, has been named VP of content at Modern Times Group and chairman of its Modern Studios division.

Svensk founded Zodiak Television and ran it until its acquisition by DeAgostini Group and subsequent rebrand as Zodiak Media Group. Prior to that he was CEO of MTG’s TV3 Sweden. He also spent time at Kanal 5 as its CEO.

Announcing the appointment, Hans-Holger Albrecht, the president and CEO of MTG, commented, “Content is at the very heart of what we do and strong content is what drives our growth. This appointment demonstrates our commitment to take a group-wide perspective on how we create, acquire and develop programming for our channels across all of our markets.
