More Wipeout, Big Brother for the U.S.

LONDON: ABC has commissioned a new version of the hit Endemol format Wipeout, to be set on a Winter Wonderland course, while CBS ordered a 13th season of Endemol’s popular reality series Big Brother.

Winter Wipeout will feature all-new cold-weather challenges. This new winter series comes in addition to the summer run of season four, which brings the season episode order to 24. Winter Wipeout is set to launch on ABC in January.

Endemol’s Big Brother is headed back for a 13th run on CBS in 2011. This year, the 12th season of the hit reality show was once again the network’s number one entertainment series of the summer.

David Goldberg, the chairman of Endemol USA, commented, “Wipeout and Big Brother are two of Endemol’s most successful global hits and it’s great to see them performing so strongly here in the U.S.A. It’s also exciting to see the Wipeout brand expanding and I’m thrilled that fans of the summer version will now be able to get their fix of laughs and wipeouts set in a winter wonderland.”
