More Tough Love for VH1

SANTA MONICA: A second season of VH1 Tough Love has been given the green light and scheduled for a fourth-quarter premiere.

The show, which watches professional matchmaker Steven Ward put unlucky-in-love women through a dating boot camp, was a strong performer in its first outing on VH1. The series averaged 1.9 million total viewers per episode and a 1.3 rating in the 18-to-49 demo. In the second season, eight new single ladies will be examined for their dating faux pas, and, with a tough-love approach, taught how to fix them.

"Audiences couldn’t get enough of Steven’s brand of tough love and brutal honesty, which is why we wanted to bring the show back for a second season," said Jeff Olde, the executive VP of original programming and production for VH1. "Our viewers truly connected with the highs and lows of dating experienced by each woman on the show as well as Steven’s distinctive male perspective. We hope to emulate what made this first season succeed, in order to give our viewers programming that resonates with their day to day life."
