ATLANTA: TNT has ordered the fifth season of the drama series Leverage to premiere in summer 2012.

The summer finale of season four of Leverage, which currently airs Sunday nights on TNT, is set for August 28, with the series continuing its fourth-season episodes in November and December. Season five will be 15 episodes.

The series about five modern-day Robin Hoods debuted in 2008 and stars Academy Award-winner Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge.  Leverage is produced by Electric Entertainment, with Dean Devlin and creators John Rogers and Chris Downey serving as executive producers.

“While many shows decline in their second, third or fourth seasons, Leverage has defied the odds and continued to climb,” said Michael Wright, the executive VP and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “More and more viewers are discovering this weekly joy ride through wonderfully complex schemes and con games, all brought to life through smart writing, sharp directing and a terrific cast.”
