Moonscoop Lands Deals in Europe & Australia

PARIS: The Moonscoop preschool series SamSam has been picked up in the U.K., Spain and Australia.

Seasons one and two of SamSam have been added to Australia’s ABC channel and Turner Broadcasting in Spain for its Boomerang and Boing channels. CiTV in the U.K. opted for the second season. Most recently, Rai and Turner Broadcasting in Italy picked up the series.

The preschool 3D-animated HD series is produced by Bayard Jeunesse Animation with ARANEO, Tiji, Gulli and France 5, and is distributed worldwide by Moonscoop. It has sold globally to more than 55 territories, including ITV in the U.K., ABC2 Australia and TV2 Denmark, as well as Asian channels such as Chutti TV in India, PBS Thailand, Taiwan Public TV, Okto in Singapore and Hong Kong cable channel I-cable. Pelican has also picked up home video rights for Singapore and Malaysia.

Lionel Marty, the president of worldwide sales at Moonscoop, said, “SamSam continues its international march into new markets—since winning the export prize, the show has continued to be in demand from broadcasters. Preschool is a challenging market but good entertainment for this demographic is proven through its international success.”
