MGM’s Sloan to Keynote AMAZIA

PARIS, April 7: Harry E.
Sloan, the chairman and CEO of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, will deliver a
keynote speech as part of the two-day entertainment summit set to open the
first edition of AMAZIA, Reed MIDEM’s new content market for Asia.

The inaugural event,
opening with the AMAZIA Entertainment Summit on November 17 and 18, will take
place from November 18 to 20 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“I am pleased to have
been invited to give a keynote speech at AMAZIA, and appreciate the opportunity
to share MGM's global expansion strategy with delegates from both Asia and
throughout the world during this promising new entertainment summit,” Sloan
said. “MGM is one of the world's few instantly recognized brands, having
surpassed geographic, language and cultural barriers with its ability to
develop and distribute popular entertainment for the world's media consumers. I
look forward to discussing our latest global initiatives as well as my thoughts
on how popular entertainment franchises and formats are demonstrating the
numerous similarities among today's global audience.”

Sloan is the first
confirmed keynote speaker for the new conference, which is set to bring
together key media and entertainment figures from China, India, Japan, Korea,
Australia, Southeast Asia, the U.S. and Europe. The conference and networking
event will be devoted to the creation and distribution of television, music and
gaming content across all delivery platforms. MGM is among 160 companies that
have agreed to exhibit at AMAZIA.
