MGM HD Expands Distribution

LOS ANGELES, May 19: MGM
HD, the high-definition movie channel from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, has extended
its reach in the U.S. through new affiliate agreements with Comcast Corporation
and Time Warner Cable.

Comcast's HD customers
will now be able to access hundreds of HD movies from MGM’s library. A
selection of classic and contemporary films will be available on both Comcast's
linear lineup and its signature VOD service, which offers more than 10,000
selections each month. MGM HD is the studio's first wholly-owned channel in the
U.S.

On the addition of Comcast
as an affiliate, Jim Packer, the co-president of worldwide television at MGM,
commented: "This is another step in growing the incredible opportunities
that exist between MGM and Comcast and deepens our strategic relationship. We are
very excited to be able to offer MGM HD to Comcast’s HD customers and think
that the channel will be a wonderful complement to the company’s HD
initiatives.”

Regarding the new
agreement with Time Warner Cable, Douglas A. Lee, the executive VP of worldwide
digital media at MGM, noted: "This is a great opportunity for us to make
MGM HD available to more consumers across the country. With our deals with Time
Warner Cable and other leading cable companies, MGM HD has gained tremendous
momentum and is ideally poised and ready to capitalize on the opportunities for
HD content across the U.S. marketplace."
