MEG Signs New Co-Production Deal for Hidden Camera Gags

COPENHAGEN, October 5: Scandinavia’s Media Entertainment
Group (MEG) has secured a co-production agreement with Belgian partners Keynews
Television (KNTV) and RTL TVI for the production of hidden-camera gags totaling
100×26-minute episodes and featuring 1,000 new gags, under the brand Joking
Around.

The new gags are already in production, and MEG will be
presenting a taster of 150 new gags at MIPCOM. The first 150 gags have already
been sold to broadcasters in more than 60 countries, including Globosat in
Brazil, Kanal D in Canada, Mediaset in Italy, AB Group in France and STAR in
Asia.

“Hidden-camera shows are coming back into the market in a
big way,” commented Peter Green, the CEO of MEG. “We have seen a great interest
in them since we started producing the new gags series. Broadcasters want
‘clean’ content targeted at the family audience, and that is what makes Joking
Around a valuable prime-time, and even an
access prime-time show.”
