MBC Action to Offer Free Live Coverage of Kings Cup MENA

MBC Group has agreed to a deal with Gerard Piqué’s seven-a-side soccer format Kings League to offer free live coverage of the Kings Cup MENA on MBC Action and Shahid.

The Kings Cup MENA, the first official competition of the Kings League MENA, will feature five days of matches beginning October 24 and running to the final on November 15.

The new agreement builds on an existing relationship between Kings League and MBC. The broadcaster has previously aired coverage of Kings League’s annual tournaments, the Kings World Cup Clubs and Kings World Cup Nations.

Since kicking off in Spain in 2023, Kings League has expanded into six major territories—MENA is the seventh. In 2024-25, the league recorded 9.5 billion social media impressions and 900 million live-streaming video views. The grand finale of the 2024-25 season, the Kings World Cup Clubs, was broadcast in more than 120 territories.

Kings League MENA is a joint venture with SURJ Sports Investments.

“We are delighted to extend our partnership with MBC GROUP, the biggest pan-regional broadcaster in the Arab world,” said Djamel Agaoua, Kings League’s CEO. “This agreement will bring the Kings League MENA to millions of fans, unleashing a new era of football entertainment unlike anything they’ve seen before.”

Ashraf Younis, director of MBC Action and MBC3, added, “MBC Group is partnering with Kings League MENA to bring a revolutionary blend of sports and entertainment to the region, tapping into the league’s digital-first format and massive youth appeal. This collaboration aligns with MBC’s commitment to innovative content and regional talent development, positioning it at the forefront of the evolving sports media landscape. The Kings Cup MENA will feature on MBC Action and Shahid.”
