Max Goldenson Forms MWG

LOS ANGELES: Television veteran, investment banker and new-media executive Max Goldenson has formed MWG Entertainment, a multiplatform global digital production company, and will serve as its president and executive producer.

Goldenson is the daughter of ABC Network founder Leonard Goldenson. MWG will collaborate with film and television talent to develop, produce and distribute original series on multiple platforms, including the Internet, mobile devices and web-to-TV set-top boxes. MWG will monetize its content through ad sales, sponsorship and brand integration. MWG’s first project is My Two Fans, a fictional 16-episode web series and musical that follows the life of an average late- 20s single woman as she rebounds from a broken heart with the help of her two fans. The series will premiere simultaneously on March 9 on online sites such as YouTube, Blip.tv, Veoh, iTunes and Sling.com.

Robert Kandle has been named VP of development for the newly formed company. Kandle began his career at the William Morris Agency and subsequently worked with David Levy and, after that, launched Smog TV Studios, an Internet production company geared to indie filmmakers. He has been actively involved in the development of My Two Fans. Lauren Iungerich is the creator and director of the series.

"The formation of MWG allows me to create a company for the digital age just as my father created one for the analog age," said Goldenson. "Our business model targets the under-served adult female audience that is internet-savvy and hungry for entertaining and accessible programming. As the first of what we hope will be many projects for this target audience, My Two Fans, created by Lauren, is witty and topical, and could be a potential goldmine for sponsors looking to target a rapidly growing and very desirable audience."

Goldenson added, "I am also delighted that we have attracted Robert to our company. He is a very talented and experienced executive who has worked closely with me on the slate of projects we are assembling."

Kandle stated, "The opportunity to work with Max was a very attractive one. We have many things already in the works and My Two Fans is primed for a successful launch. Our goal is to be an artist-friendly company and one that will push the envelope in sculpting the future of professionally-produced content in the new-media landscape."
