Master Toy Deal in Place for Pinky & Perky

LONDON, April 21: PPC
Enterprises has licensed the pan-European merchandising rights for Pinky
& Perky
, a CGI children’s
comedy series that is a modern update of a classic brand, to toy manufacturer
Martin Yaffe.

Martin Yaffe will produce
a series of figurines, playsets and plush toys under its Born to Play brand,
all of which have interactive features. The products are scheduled to be
available in retailers from spring 2009, following the launch of the TV series,
distributed by Granada International, on CBBC and BBC One this fall. PPC
Enterprises holds the worldwide rights to Pinky & Perky and is looking to extend the brand into
publishing, apparel, collectibles and house wares.

“We’re very pleased to
have licensed Martin Yaffe these rights,” said Mark Hurry, the director of
legal and commercial for PPC Enterprises. “They’re an established toy
manufacturer who will create high-quality, novel interactive toys which will
reflect the show’s liveliness. Pinky & Perky is a classic brand that has been revived and given
a makeover for the 21st century. The new CGI series is sure to be a hit with
both young and old and the quirky characters in the show present us with many
great licensing opportunities.”

Ronnie Yaffe, the managing
director of Martin Yaffe International, added, “We’re delighted to have picked
up these rights from PPC Enterprises and to drive the Pinky & Perky master toy program across Europe. This classic
property has been updated with cutting-edge graphics and an up-to-date sense of
humor which is sure to create an enormous fan base.”
