LOS ANGELES: MarVista Entertainment has completed principal photography in Vancouver on Radio Rebel, a Disney Channel movie slated to premiere in early 2012.

Radio Rebel is the second movie produced by MarVista Entertainment for the Disney Channel. It is a co-production between MarVista and Two 4 the Money Media. Canadian broadcaster YTV has acquired Canadian television rights. It is set to premiere on Disney Channel in the U.S. and YTV Canada in early 2012, and later on Disney Channels worldwide.

The movie stars Debby Ryan (Jessie, Suite Life on Deck, 16 Wishes) as a high school junior with a secret alter ego, Radio Rebel, the most popular radio DJ in Seattle. Sarena Parmar (Degrassi), Adam DiMarco (Kiss at Pine Lake, Do Something With Your Life), Atticus Mitchell (My Babysitter’s A Vampire) and Merritt Patterson (Kyle XY) also star. It is based on author Danielle Joseph’s popular novel, Shrinking Violet.

“Following the incredible success of our first production for Disney Channel, 16 Wishes, both in the U.S. and overseas, we are excited to further our relationship with this second movie, once again starring Disney favorite Debby Ryan,” said Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista Entertainment. “We are confident that Radio Rebel features the same elements that made our first production a huge success including a tight, fast-paced and comedic script and an all-round talented cast, plus several original songs that will be sure to delight teens across the globe.”
