MarVista Inks New Agreements

LOS ANGELES, March 26:
MarVista Entertainment has secured deals in Western, Central and Eastern
Europe, as well as a raft of pan-Asian agreements, including one with HBO Asia.

In Western Europe,
Portuguese distributor Lusomundo picked up MarVista’s Beyond the Break, which is currently broadcast across the globe in
more than 85 countries. Over in Spain and Andorra, the company licensed the
teen comedy Taking Five to
Sogecable-owned private broadcaster Cuatro.

Meanwhile, in Central and
Eastern Europe, MarVista licensed a nine-movie package to Polish pubcaster TVP,
including three Shiloh films as
well as a number of titles executive produced by MarVista’s Michael D. Jacobs
and Fernando Szew. The company has also granted the basic-cable
rights for a package of titles from Jacobs and Szew, including Love Thy
Neighbor
, Night of Terror, Past Sins and Cries in the Dark,
to Fox International Bulgaria.

Across Asia, MarVista has
scored deals with Real Networks for six movie titles, including The
Sasquatch Dumpling Gang
, Rockin’
the House
, Inspector Mom, Terrorist Next Door and Enemy Within. The company also closed a deal with HBO Asia for
several Burbank Animation Studios classic animated features such as Mulan,
Puss ‘N Boots, Emperor’s New Clothes, White Fang, Beauty and the B
east and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. In India, MarVista licensed a package of movies
to Sahara One’s newly launched channel Firangi, which dubs its content into
Hindi. Titles within the package include Absolute Zero, A Small Town Conspiracy, Frame of Mind and South of Heaven, West of Hell. Additionally, the company licensed the lifestyle
series Space for Living and the
documentary Global Warming to
RTB Brunei.
