MarVista Delivers $50-Million Programming Slate

LOS ANGELES, October 3: MarVista Entertainment is presenting
a $50-million programming slate at MIPCOM, spanning prime-time series, TV
movies and kids’ fare.

The company is showcasing eight new TV movies for the
international market, led by Past Sins,
in which a tough as nails criminal defense attorney must prove the innocence of
a woman whose DNA matches her to a crime committed many years before; and Cries
in the Dark,
where a detective searches for
her sister who is missing after a run-in with a recently relocated sex offender,
just days before she is due to deliver her first baby. Also on offer at MIPCOM
are Disaster Zone: Volcano in
New York
, the romantic comedy Instant
Message
and the thriller Night of
Terror
.

MarVista also has third-party movie titles to offer, among
them Dead Writeabout
a novelist who uncovers a grizzly family history; and Deadly
Secrets
, which explores the extreme lengths
one young man will go to cover up a fatal accident. Romantic comedies include Be My Baby and Stand
Up For Love.
Rounding out the slate is the
medical drama Saving Lives, as
well as Treasure Hunt: The Search for Tillamook’s Gold and Summer Dreams.

MarVista’s prime-time TV slate is led by the teen-skewing
Beyond the
Break, which has been licensed
to France’s M6, Spain’s La Sexta, Norway’s TV2, Belgium’s Club RTL and SBS and
French Canada’s VRAK TV.

And on the kids’ end, MarVista will be emphasizing the CGI
series The Zula Patrol, a fun,
educational science series, plus Attila and The Great Blue Bean, a animated movie from Kent Butterworth, the
acclaimed director of Sonic The Hedgehog and Batman: The Animated Series. For tweens, meanwhile, MarVista is offering Prank Patrol, available as a format and as a completed
production.

The slate is capped off by the style and design show, Space
for Living
. Airing in Canada on Home and Garden Television, the series’
26 half-hour episodes explore design solutions across the globe, exploring
homes from China to Vancouver to discover ideas, inspiration and solutions to
celebrate the way they live.
