Marvel Gets New Chief Creative Officer

NEW YORK: Marvel Entertainment has upped Joe Quesada to the role of chief creative officer, working alongside Alan Fine, executive VP to the office of the president and chairman of Marvel Studios’ creative committee.

Quesada will work to ensure that all representations of Marvel’s characters and storytelling remain true to form with Marvel’s history. He will also provide creative oversight for all areas of Marvel’s business, including theatrical, TV, publishing, animation and games. Furthermore, he will participate in all story and script development for Marvel’s films and animation. Quesada takes on the new role after having served as chief creative officer and editor-in-chief at Marvel Animation & Publishing.

Fine, to whom Quesada will report, commented: “I am excited to have Joe join me as Marvel Entertainment enters the next chapter in our history. Joe has already played an instrumental role as editor-in-chief in changing the face of the comic book industry with bold new ventures and an unprecedented penetration of the mainstream consciousness.
