Mario Lopez to Star in VH1 Reality Series

LOS ANGELES: A new untitled VH1 reality series will follow Mario Lopez and his girlfriend Courtney Mazza as they prepare for the birth of their first child.

The 8×30-minute series, set for a fall debut, will follow as Lopez leans how to balance his new life as an expectant father with his busy career. Lopez is host of Extra and America’s Best Dance Crew, and is the author of three books.

The untitled series is executive produced by Cris Abrego for 51 Minds Entertainment, also behind the series Rock of Love, Charm School, Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business, The Surreal Life and My Fair Brady.

"Our audience has grown up with Mario," said Jeff Olde, the executive VP of original programming and production at VH1. "They have watched him go from a kid in a fictional high school to a man who has succeeded in many different facets in the TV business. We’re thrilled that we get to be a part of his next transition into fatherhood." He added,  "This new series fits perfectly with VH1’s programming because Mario’s upcoming life changes reflect the same family milestones that many of our viewers are experiencing for the first time."
