Mad Men Scores Again at Golden Globes

HOLLYWOOD: For the third consecutive year, Mad Men took home the statuette for best drama series at the Golden Globe Awards, while newcomer Glee won in the comedy category. 

On the performance side, Julianna Margulies was named best actress in a drama for her role in the freshman hit The Good Wife. Michael C. Hall took the win for best actor in a drama for Dexter. The supporting wins went to Chloe Sevigny for Big Love and John Lithgow for Dexter. The winners for best actress and best actor in a TV comedy were Toni Collette for United States of Tara and Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock, respectively. 

Grey Gardens was recognized as best TV mini-series, with Drew Barrymore scoring a win for her performance in the HBO program. Kevin Bacon won on the male side in the mini-series category for Taking Chance

Avatar took top honors as best motion picture, and James Cameron won for best director. Sandra Bullock scored the win for best actress in a drama for The Blind Side, while Jeff Bridges was named best actor in a drama motion picture for Crazy Heart. Supporting wins went to Mo’Nique for Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire and Christoph Waltz for Inglorious Basterds

The Hangover, meanwhile, was named best comedy. Meryl Streep won for Julie & Julia in the comedic motion picture performance category, with Robert Downey Jr. scoring a nod for Sherlock Holmes on the male side. Best animated feature was Up. Best foreign-language film was The White Ribbon of Germany.
