M6 Records Revenue Gains in Q4

PARIS: France’s M6 Group has reported its fourth-quarter results, with revenues increasing by 7.4 percent to 402.2 million euros, including a gain in ad revenues at its flagship terrestrial channel, the first since the second quarter of 2008.

M6 reported that Q4 ad revenues in total were up by 5.9 percent to 217.6 million euros, of which 178.9 million euros came from the main M6 channel, reflecting a 1.5-percent increase. Advertising from the digital channels and other platforms increased by 32.5 percent to 38.7 million euros. Non-advertising revenues increased by 9.2 percent to 184.6 million euros.

For the full year, meanwhile, revenues were up by 1.6 percent to 1.38 billion euros, where an 8.3-percent rise in non-ad revenues to 652 million euros compensated for the 3.8 percent decline in ad revenues to 724.6 million euros. In the year, M6’s channel advertising fell by 8 percent to 605.6 million euros, but the digital channels and other platforms brought in 119 million euros, a 25.4 percent increase.
