Lulu Vroumette Season Two in the Works

PARIS: France Télévisions and Mondo TV France are to produce the second season of animated kids’ series Lulu Vroumette to broadcast in 2013 on Zouzous France 5.

France Télévisions Distribution, the rights holder of the first season, has secured all rights to season two. Lulu Vroumette has sold to more than 20 countries, including France (France 5/France Télévisions, Tiji/CanalJ), the U.K. (CBeebies/BBC), Germany (KI.KA/ZDF), Italy (RAI yoyo/RAI), Portugal (RTP), Sweden (BarnKanalen/SVT), Belgium (La Trois/RTBF), the Middle East (Al Jazeera Children’s Channel/Al Jazeera), Russia (Karoussel/Channel One Russia Worldwide), Quebec (TéléQuébec), Indonesia (ANT/Red Candle), Korea (EBS), Poland (Mini Mini/Canal+) and Thailand (THAI Public Broadcasting), among others. The series features Lulu the tortoise and is adapted from book series by Daniel Picouly and Frederic Pillot, published by Magnard Jeunesse in France.

France Télévisions Distribution has also inked a partnership with BBC Worldwide, the series’ licensing agent in the U.K. and Ireland. The first DVD will be released in April 2012, published by France Télévisions Distribution and distributed by Sony Pictures. Toys, games, BTS, stationery and apparel will be launched in France during the second half of 2012.
