Lost’s Jack Bender Signs On for Syfy Pilot

NEW YORK: Jack Bender, who just finished up six seasons as executive producer and director of Lost, has signed a deal with Syfy to direct and executive produce a 90-minute action-adventure pilot, Alphas (working title).

From writers Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk) and Michael Karnow, the pilot follows a team of ordinary citizens who possess unusual mental skills. This unlikely team takes the law into their own hands and uncovers what the CIA, FBI and Pentagon have not been able, or willing, to solve. Alphas is also executive produced by Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun for BermanBraun. Production is set to begin this summer in Toronto.
