LIVING Bags Cougar Town

LONDON: In a deal with Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, Virgin Media Television’s entertainment channel LIVING has scooped up the rights to the new Courteney Cox comedy Cougar Town.

The 13×1-hour series, about a recently divorced single mom in her 40s who starts dating again, will premiere on LIVING in 2010. It launched on ABC last month with 11.3 million viewers. “Cougar Town was a stand out show for us at this year’s L.A. Screenings," said Amy Barham, the head of acquisitions at Virgin Media Television. "Hugely entertaining, Cox is on top comedic form with a fantastic supporting cast. We think the show sits perfectly on LIVING and will really resonate with our audience.”

Cougar Town is produced by ABC Studios.
