Lifetime Networks Adds to Unscripted Team

NEW YORK: Gene McCarthy takes on the role of senior VP of reality and alternative programming for Lifetime Networks as of July 6. 

McCarthy will direct Lifetime’s reality and alternative programming team, with oversight for the company’s strategy and implementation for all development and production of its unscripted content. She was most recently the senior VP of development and production for Discovery Channel, where she managed the creation and execution of all prime-time series and specials. She will report to JoAnn Alfano, the executive VP of entertainment at Lifetime Networks.
