Leadership Named for Mobile Content Consortium

NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES: The mobile-content joint venture established in April by 12 major broadcast groups has named Fox Networks Group’s Erik Moreno and NBC Universal’s Salil Dalvi as interim co-general managers.

Mobile Content Venture (MCV) was established by Belo Corp., Cox Media Group, E.W. Scripps Co., Fox, Gannett Broadcasting, Hearst Television, ION Television, Media General, Meredith Corp., NBC, Post-Newsweek Stations and Raycom Media to utilize existing broadcast spectrum for the delivery of content to mobile devices. Moreno (senior VP of corporate development at Fox Networks Group) and Dalvi (senior VP of mobile platform development for NBC Universal Digital Distribution) will be responsible for leading product development, network planning and distribution efforts for the planned service. They will work closely with the venture’s newly-established executive steering committee, which includes Jack Abernethy, CEO of Fox Television Stations; Rich Battista, executive VP of News Corporation; David Lougee, the president of Gannett Broadcasting; Roger Keating, senior VP of digital media for Hearst Television; Brandon Burgess, the chairman and CEO of ION Television; Jean-Briac Perrette, the president of digital and affiliate distribution at NBC Universal; and John Wallace, the president of NBC Local Media.
