Lawless Signs Co-Pro, Distribution Deals

LOS ANGELES, September 4:
Lawless Entertainment has completed a deal to develop film and television
properties for Literal Media, a library of 4,000-plus literary titles co-owned
by Michael Douglas and Chris Baker, and also has an agreement with Andy’s
Airplanes for the development of an animated series.

Lawless, which is headed
by Cathy Malatesta and Bryan Taw, will work with both companies to assist in
the development, financing, co-production and distribution (in all media) of
the various properties.

For Literal Media, Lawless
will work in partnership with international production companies, broadcast
networks and other third-party entities. The Literal Media library includes
works from Cornell Woolrich, Damon Runyon and Shirley Jackson, among others. For Andy’s Airplanes, the
company will develop the Andy’s Airplanes
property, a CG animation project for kids 5 to 8, into an animated series.
