La Sexta Unveils Programming Schedule

MADRID, September 17: The
Spanish terrestrial network La Sexta has revealed its
programming schedule for the 2007-2008 season, which focuses on news,
entertainment, international scripted series and sports.

La Sexta will
continue its commitment to news coverage this season with the news program lasexta/Noticias which has already been on the air on
for a year. On the entertainment front, the network will be bringing back hit
programs such as Se lo que hicisteis and El Intermedio. In addition, La Sexta has signed popular Spanish
comedian Andreu Buenafuente, and will continue to feature Santiago Segura, with
his Sabías a lo que venías, which airs on Sunday nights. For one hour a day from Monday
through Friday, Le Sexta will also air documentaries from National Geographic.
The hit U.S. series Shark will also be a part of the network’s schedule.

Sports will
also continue to serve as a pillar of La Sexta’s schedule, with the continued
broadcast of a free-to-air football match from the Spanish First Division on
Saturday nights. Over the course of the season, football coverage will also
include UEFA Cup matches, FA Cup games, international friendly games featuring
teams such as Brazil and Argentina as well as highlights of Spanish Cup games
among others. For the new season, the channel will also air the Spanish
national basketball team’s matches and has also acquired the exclusive rights
for the European Basketball Championships in Poland 2009, Lithuania 2011 and
the World Cup in Turkey in 2010.

Wednesday
nights on La Sexta will feature the coaching program Terapia de pareja, which will help couples in crisis
identify the origin of their problems and offer them strategies to help them
overcome them and repair their relationships. Other highlights include the
prime-time documentary series Vidas privadas.

The new
schedule will begin airing from today. La Sexta reached a 3.7-percent share in
August, becoming the channel with the highest year-on year increase (1.3
percentage points compared to August 2006). In the most popular prime-time
slots, La Sexta has achieved a 4.4-percent viewing share from January to
August.
