LOS ANGELES: The new Shondaland drama Still Star-Crossed is among the series being presented for buyers at the L.A. Screenings by Disney Media Distribution (DMD).

Set for ABC’s midseason schedule, Still Star-Crossed is a period drama that picks up where the famous story of Romeo and Juliet ends—charting the treachery, palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate. The series is based on a book by Melinda Taub.

Another series set for ABC in midseason that DMD will be screening is When We Rise. The seven-episode limited series chronicles the real-life personal and political struggles, setbacks and triumphs of a diverse family of LGBT men and women who helped pioneer one of the last legs of the U.S. Civil Rights movement from its turbulent infancy in the 20th century to the once unfathomable successes of today.

DMD will also be presenting the ABC comedy American Housewife, which stars Katy Mixon as a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three. The show follows the exploits as she raises her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, filled with “perfect” mommies and their “perfect” offspring.
