Koala Brothers Heads to Italy

LONDON, December 1:
Spellbound Entertainment has signed two new broadcast deals in Italy for its
preschool series The Koala Brothers.

RAI 2 in Italy picked up
the first three seasons of 10-minute episodes as well as the 46-minute
Christmas special The Koala Brothers
Outback Christmas
. The deal was brokered by Lilium
Distribution. Disney Channel in Italy took on the satellite rights for
the series, picking up all 78×10-minute episodes and the Christmas special.

In addition to the two
broadcast sales, Spellbound is finalizing a deal for home entertainment in the
region and is currently in talks with a number of Italian publishers and toy
companies.

Peter Curtis, the joint
managing director of Spellbound, said: "We are delighted that The Koala Brothers continues to achieve
excellent broadcast platforms across Europe, and with RAI 2 and Disney Channel
we have two great partners with whom to bring the much-loved Koala Brothers to
children in Italy."

The Koala Brothers was originally commissioned by CBBC in the U.K.
and has now been acquired by 60 broadcasters covering more than 155 territories
worldwide.
