KinoPoisk, Russia’s largest streaming platform, is producing two new original TV series set for 2022, including the fantasy program Aeterna.

Based on the best-selling book series The Sparks of Aeterna by Vera Kamsha, Aeterna is a larger-than-life story of love, revenge and the fight for power that occurs on a planet named Caertiana. A planned experimental launch of the first episode is set for Christmas 2021, with the remaining episodes slated for Christmas 2022.

KinoPoisk is also producing the animated sci-fi CyberSlav, created by Dmitry Yakovenko, showrunner of the children’s series Kikoriki (known in the U.S. as GoGoRiki). Cyberslav combines Ancient Russia with the future as strong fighting warriors make use of modern technologies such as plasma weapons and cyber implants. The series is slated for fall 2022.

Olga Filipuk, CEO of KinoPoisk’s parent company Yandex Studios and chief content officer of KinoPoisk, said: “These two productions have a definitive universal appeal. Aeterna already has a large and dedicated international fan base from its popular book franchise and Cyberslav’s creator has a proven track record of developing hit TV productions. We are excited to bring audiences all over the world this new programming to enjoy.”
