KidsCo Bags Two First-Run Deals

LONDON: The animated series DinoSquad and The Future is Wild will make their television debut on KidsCo channels in select territories.

KidsCo took the broadcast rights for the action-adventure DinoSquad from Cookie Jar, and will air the 26×22-minute series across all its global feeds on an exclusive basis, with the exception of Turkey, South Africa and Bulgaria. The show follows five teens, who each have the power to turn into a dinosaur. The 26×22-minute The Future is Wild will launch across KidsCo’s Central and Eastern European feed. The adventure follows on from the adult-skewed series, but encourages children to question has the world will look in millions of years.

Paul Robinson, the managing director of KidsCo, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be launching these compelling new series on KidsCo. The Future is Wild and DinoSquad are welcome additions to our library of top-quality content and prime examples of why kids and their parents choose KidsCo; the home of entertaining and educational programming. Today’s agreements underline the high calibre of KidsCo’s offering and why we are the destination of choice for producers and distributors. ”

"Cookie Jar is pleased that KidsCo has picked up our popular action-adventure series DinoSquad," commented Toper Taylor, the president and COO of Cookie Jar Entertainment. "We believe that its popularity on Cookie Jar’s CBS Saturday morning block will help make it a great success for Kidsco."

John Adams, the creator of The Future is Wild, added: “I was very excited when I heard that KidsCo were planning to launch the children’s animated version of The Future is Wild on their very extensive network. Those audiences who have seen the original live action and CGI version will remember that it was a documentary which got people of all ages thinking about the future of our planet. This time it is devoted particularly to kids and our future science is woven into some really fun stories about a group of time travelling kids. We had great fun making it and I know that kids have just as much fun watching it.”
