Karen Barroeta Upped at Telemundo

MIAMI: Karen Barroeta has been promoted to senior VP of marketing creative for Telemundo, where Carlos Collazo has also been elevated, to VP of on-air promotions.

The newly created role of senior VP of marketing creative will see Barroeta developing positioning for all program-specific and Telemundo brand advertising and promotion. She will oversee the creative services teams. Barroeta will be responsible for leading the creative process and will ensure the implementation of creative strategies with cohesive messaging across all platforms. Barroeta will continue to be responsible for the development of strategic marketing, promotions, communications and talent functions for Telemundo Internacional. She will oversee the newly appointed VP of marketing and promotions, Alejandra Recasens. Recasens will report to Barroeta and Marcos Santana, Telemundo Internacional’s president. Barroeta will also continue to oversee the marketing and promotions operation for Telemundo’s cable channel in Mexico under Santana’s leadership.

Also reporting to Barroeta is Collazo, who has held various leadership roles in the on-air promotions department over the past ten years.
