BURBANK: Nancy Kanter has added general manager to her title at Disney Junior Worldwide, in addition to her role as senior VP of original programming.

The newly created, expanded post will see Kanter continuing to lead the development and production of content for kids 2 to 7, while also broadening her scope to include strategic direction for the multiplatform brand. Disney Junior debuted just last week on TV, digital and radio platforms. Preparations have started for the launch of a full 24-hour Disney Junior channel in the U.S. and around the world.

Kanter continues to report to Gary Marsh, the president of entertainment and chief creative officer for Disney Channels Worldwide, while also now reporting to Carolina Lightcap, the president of Disney Channels Worldwide.

Lightcap said, "Nancy Kanter is a highly respected force in the creative community and her managerial and leadership skills have invigorated our content development for preschoolers." She added, "In collaboration with the entire team, she will continue to take Disney Junior to places that we could only imagine a few short years ago."
