JimJam Gears Up for Launches in the Netherlands, Russia and Bulgaria

LONDON, July 2: The global
preschool channel JimJam will launch on the Netherlands’ largest cable
operator, Ziggo, and will expand into Russia and Bulgaria in July.

In the Netherlands,
JimJam, which is a joint venture between HIT Entertainment and Chellomedia,
will reach about 400,000 additional households. Combined with recent launches
on CanalDigitaal and UPC, the channel will reach almost one million subscribers
in the Netherlands, making it JimJam’s largest new market.

JimJam’s launch into
Russia and Bulgaria is through the channel’s new Middle Eastern feed, which
kicked off in April with Showtime Arabia. Additional feeds will make JimJam
available in Arabic, English and Russian and in the South African market.

JimJam is currently
available through three feeds—Italy, Central and Eastern Europe and the
Middle East. It broadcasts in 11 territories and is translated into ten
languages.

Wayne Dunsford, the general manager of JimJam, said: “We are absolutely delighted
with the impressive ongoing success of JimJam, which has increased its reach
across the world at a fantastic rate. We are confident that the channel’s
exciting range of preschool programming will continue to appeal and we look
forward to welcoming even more cable operators to the JimJam family in the near
future.”
