LAS VEGAS: ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) has acquired the licensing rights for hit historical drama series Poldark.

ITVS GE is prepping a dedicated consumer-products program. The licensor is currently seeking licensing partners in key categories such as apparel and accessories, homewares, gifting, stationery and personal care. Merchandise will target the female adult market, with a secondary audience of gift buyers and men.

ITVS GE has signed its first partner for the Poldark licensing program, set to debut at U.K. retail from Q4 2015, with more to be announced shortly. Building the stationery and greetings category, Danilo is on board to produce a calendar inspired by the hit series. The show is also celebrating strong sales figures for home entertainment consumer products. In May 2015, ITV Studios Home Entertainment launched the Poldark series one DVD at mass-market retail and online with Amazon, while Sony Music released the soundtrack CD.

Trudi Hayward, the senior VP and head of global merchandising for ITVS GE, said: “Since its debut Poldark has become one of the most talked about new TV shows in recent times and star Aidan Turner has set pulses racing in the U.K. It promises to be a really exciting new property; with a confirmed second series and partners already coming on board, we’re committed to harnessing the strong commercial potential of the brand with licensing collaborations that target the show’s growing fanbase.”
