ITV Worldwide Scores Output Deal with Canadian Indie

LONDON, August 21: As part of its efforts to further expand
in North America, ITV Worldwide has entered into a multi-year distribution and
development alliance with Proper Television, an independent producer based in
Toronto that specializes in factual and lifestyle fare.

The deal grants ITV Worldwide the exclusive international rights, outside of Canada, to all
content, formats and series developed by Proper TV, launched in 2004 by former BBC and Mentorn
producer/director Guy O’Sullivan. Proper’s credits include Discovery Canada’s

and Slice’s Newly
Wed, Nearly Dead?

The brand-new shows to be
represented by ITV Worldwide as part of the deal include a workplace format for
CBC Canada called I Suck at My Job and
a property format for HGTV, Realtor vs Realtor.

Peter Iacono, the president and
managing director of ITV Worldwide, noted: “Proper TV is one of the
fastest-growing factual indies in Canada and has the reputation of being
extremely creative. We are very pleased to be working closely with one of the
most innovative producers around.”

bringing Proper TV’s catalogue of programs and formats to the international
market,” added Richard Life, the head of factual at ITV Worldwide, who
negotiated the Proper TV alliance. “It is clear to us that the programming they
are creating has strong global appeal.”
