LONDON/AMSTERDAM: Following ITV Studios’ acquisition of Talpa earlier this year, the two companies have entered into exclusive production partnerships in Australia, the Nordics and the Middle East.

In addition to ITV Studios becoming the production partner for Talpa formats in Australia and the Nordics, the agreements will see Talpa produce ITV Studios’ formats in the Netherlands and the Middle East. Currently, in Australia, Finland and Norway, The Voice, and in Denmark The Voice Kids, are covered by separate production agreements and are not part of these new partnerships.

Diana Buddingh, the director of global productions, and Annelies Noes, the head of global network, are overseeing Talpa’s daily cooperation with their global network. Meanwhile, ITV Studios Nordic is led by managing director Hans Engholm and ITV Studios Australia by CEO David Mott, who will join the business in November. Both will work alongside Mike Beale, the executive VP of global development and formats at ITV Studios.

Maarten Meijs, the managing director of Talpa Global, stated: “A strong and vast international production network is the spine of our content strategy. Utilizing ITV Studios’ international presence in Australia and the Nordics and gaining access to their large portfolio of hit formats in the Netherlands and the Middle East enables us to expand our network even further.”

Maria Kyriacou, the managing director of ITV Studios Global Entertainment and RoW, added: “This is a great opportunity for Talpa and ITV Studios to make the most of each of our strengths in the international marketplace. Talpa’s world-leading slate of formats is a fantastic boost to our teams in Australia and the Nordics, and we look forward to working with them to introduce more viewers to ITV Studios’ shows in the Netherlands and the Middle East.”

ITV Studios is introducing Love Island at MIPCOM, while Talpa’s biggest highlight is the format Dance, Dance, Dance.
