ITV Studios & Active TV Align for Asian Formats Push

LONDON/HONG KONG/SINGAPORE: ITV Studios and Active TV have come together under the banner ITV Studios Asia to produce formats across Asia.

The companies will work with broadcasters in the region to land commissions for ITV Studios’ new and existing formats. Active TV will produce all content under the ITV Studios Asia banner and all finished programming will be sold internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

Active TV Asia, led by Bertram van Munster and Michael McKay, specializes in the production of entertainment and reality formats. Recent credits include The Amazing Race franchises for Asia, Australia and Israel, the weekly production of E! News Asia and the kids’ show Prank Patrol.

Kevin Lygo, the managing director at ITV Studios, commented, “One of the objectives for increasing ITV Studios revenues is to fully exploit our portfolio of formats and brands internationally and this agreement is a step forward in growing our international footprint to achieve this. Combining the production skills, local knowledge and broadcaster relationships of both companies will provide the ideal environment to maximize the success of our existing and future formats in this key region.”
