ION Television to Air RHI Programming

NEW YORK, July 24: Flash
Gordon
and The 10th
Kingdom
will be featured on ION
Television Network’s RHI Movie Weekend starting next month.

The two shows from RHI
Entertainment will be aired during a weekly two-hour Friday evening programming
block. The broadcasts begin August 1 with episodes one and two of Flash Gordon. Starting on August 8, ION Television will pair an
hour of Flash Gordon with an
hour of The 10th Kingdom
each week.

Flash Gordon is a 22-hour series based on the comic that
chronicles the adventures of Flash (Eric Johnson) and his companions as they battle
a ruthless dictator. It originally aired on SCI FI Channel in 2007, scoring the
network’s best series premiere telecast for that year. Flash Gordon is produced by Reunion Pictures with Matthew
O’Connor and Tom Rowe serving as producers.

The 10th Kingdom, a 10-hour fantasy mini-series that premiered on
NBC in 2000, follows Virginia and her father as they are transported via a
magical mirror to a fairy-tale world where an evil queen has escaped from
prison. Filmed over seven months in England, Austria, Germany and France, The
10th Kingdom
is directed by David
Carson (Star Trek) and Herbert
Wise (I, Claudius). The 10th Kingdom is written by Simon Moore, who also serves as a
producer alongside Jane Prowse
and Brian Eastman.

Both Flash Gordon and The 10th Kingdom are executive produced by RHI’s Robert Halmi, Sr. and Robert Halmi, Jr.

“We are extremely proud of
both of these projects and we are delighted that they will be seen this summer
on ION Television,” said Halmi, Jr., the president and CEO of RHI
Entertainment. “We know that the many fans of both will be delighted to see
them again while, at the same time, we also expect new audiences to tune in and
discover them for the first time.”

“One of the great
hallmarks of RHI’s programming is its timelessness and its repeatability,”
added Brandon Burgess, the chairman and CEO of ION Media Networks. “Both of
these series have captured the imaginations of viewers, and they remain just as
captivating now.”
