ION Life to Expand Lifestyle Offerings

WEST PALM BEACH, November 5: Beginning November 12, ION Media Networks’ digital ION Life channel will feature a new slate of lifestyle programming that includes content from categories such as diet and nutrition, travel and adventure, design and decor, fitness and sports.

New programming includes Taste! The Beverage Show, examining the history and creation of beverages such as beer, wine and spirits; The Weekend Guy, centered on weekend activities to do with the kids; Along for the Ride, tracking and profiling 39 equestrian riders as they prepare and compete for prize money; Get Out! with Shelley and Courtney, which grants behind-the-scenes access to the top tourist spots on the globe; The Prenup Challenge, in which three engaged couples are flown to a remote tropical island to test their compatibility; World Championship Sports programming on Olympic and lifestyle sports; and Food Wise, a culinary cooking series emphasizing organic fruits, vegetables and meats, whole grains and natural products.

Additionally, ION Life will run a children’s health series, entitled Kids HealthWorks, as well as other programs in this category. The move is part of the network’s commitment to child health and combating childhood obesity.

ION Life also presents a weekly, one-hour branded program offering on the company’s flagship network, ION Television. Launched in February 2007, ION Life also features health content from NBC’s Dateline and The Today Show; Information Television Network’s Healthy Body, Healthy Mind and Cutting Edge Medical Report; and Breakthrough Entertainment’s Patient Files and Little Miracles.
