BBC Worldwide Channels Takes NBCU Fare

LONDON: BBC Worldwide Channels has acquired a slate of British movies from NBC Universal International Television Distribution, including Love Actually and Notting Hill, for BBC Entertainment in Poland.

The package of Working Title films, which covers the exclusive basic cable rights in Poland, also includes About a Boy, Billy Elliot, ElizabethShakespeare in LoveFierce Creatures and Bean.

This is BBC Worldwide’s first ever movie deal for BBC Entertainment, which launched in Poland in December 2007. Love Actually kicks off a month-long season of popular British films this July in a new Sunday night slot at 10 p.m.

John Taite, the director of programming for EMEA at BBC Worldwide Channels, stated: “BBC Entertainment is all about bringing the best of British to the world.
